Game Drives in Uganda National Parks

The best place to see wildlife in Uganda’s savanna is on game drives through national parks. A game drive is an experience that includes seeing animals while travelling in a comfortable car, which will undoubtedly give you a sense of being on a traditional safari. One of the most well-liked ways to witness wildlife in its native habitat is through safari game drives. Since these are the coldest times of day and when most animals are more active, game drives are typically held in the early morning, late afternoon, or at night.

In Uganda, there are three main game parks that provide the best game drives. The region is well-known for having an abundance of wildlife. You will undoubtedly see the big five; the lion, cheetah, rhino, leopard, and elephant as well as a variety of other wildlife species, birds, and stunning vegetation during your game drive safari.

Game Drive in Murchison Falls National Park

Known as Uganda’s most diversified park, Murchison Falls National Park is located in the country’s northeast and offers a plethora of amazing sights to behold. The park boasts a wealth of attractions, including more than 76 mammal species four of which are part of the Big Five lions, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes. Bushbucks, Uganda kob, warthogs, giraffes, Jackson’s hartebeest, hyenas, and other animals are among the other species. These species are easily observable on an adventurous game drive along the Victoria, Horney Moon, and Bulingi game tracks, among other game drives.

Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park is regarded as one of Uganda’s most varied and attractive protected regions, offering an enormous diversity of species and a multitude of genuinely breath-taking scenery. The Ishasha sector is well-known for its tree-climbing lions, which are among the amazing 95 mammal species found in the Kazinga plains. Views of enormous dark elephants, zebras, Uganda-kobs, topis, water bucks, bush bucks, reed bucks, duiker, mongoose, swamp antelopes, spotted hyena, warthog, forest hog, and challenging routes in the south are also available in this area.

Game Drive in Kidepo Valley National Park

Situated in a secluded corner of Uganda’s border with South Sudan and Kenya, the Kidepo Valley National Park is one of the country’s most breathtaking parks. It allows you to drive into the wilderness and experience the vast beauty of the savanna, with its rolling hills and endless horizon. The park is known for its spectacular Savannah landscapes that culminate in a rocky horizon.

About 80 different species of mammals can be found in the park, including the following: wolves, hunting dogs, cheetahs, striped hyenas, bat-eared foxes, rothschild giraffes, burchell’s zebras, Jackson’s hartebeests, bush pigs, bohor reed bucks, warthogs, rothschild giraffes, defassa water bucks, cape buffaloes, elands, bush duskier, bush bucks, lions, side-striped jackals, leopards, black-backed jackals, and various small cats. Among these three national parks, an extremely comprehensive experience is highly suggested.
