This 3 Days Murchison Falls National Park Safari takes you to explore Murchison Falls National Park which lies at the Northern end of the Albertine Rift Valley. The park is bisected by the Victoria Nile, which plunges 45m over the remnant rift valley wall after squeezing through a 7 meter wide space, creating the powerful Murchison Falls. The park is home to Uganda’s most spectacular wildlife so much so that you can easily spot the Big 5 on your lucky day. Taking a view of the falls from the bottom angle is a highlight of the trip. Animals in the park include; hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, lions, leopards, giraffes among many others. Bird species in the park include; pelican bee-eaters, goliath herons, Egyptian geese, kingfishers, hornbills, cormorants and many more.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park

Our tour guide/driver will pick you from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala and take you on a drive to Murchison Falls National Park through the famous Luwero Triangle. You will make as top at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino trekking tour. After lunch, you will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park arriving at the lodge in the late afternoon in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park

Begin the day with an early morning breakfast and then go on a wildlife game drive in the park. Your guide will help you spot a number of animals that may include; elephants, lions, cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribis, bushbuck and so many others. Return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. You will most likely encounter a number of animals including; hippos, crocodiles, elephants, waterbucks, kobs among many others. There are a number of bird species that you might encounter as well and these include; goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork. You will leave the boat and go on a hike to the top of the falls. This gives you a close view of the falls where the world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the rift valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. Your driver/guide will be waiting for you to bring you back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Return to Kampala / Entebbe

You will wake up at 6:00am for an early morning breakfast after which you will embark on a return journey to Kampala. Visitors booked for Paraa will then have to cross the ferry at 8:00am back to Masindi. You will have lunch en route and then proceed to Kampala or Entebbe to catch up your flight back home or to your next destination.
