7 Days Uganda Safari and Gorilla Tour

Day 1: Arrival

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be received by our tour guide / driver who will brief you about the 7 day safari in Uganda and transfer you to a hotel in Kampala for your dinner and overnight stay as you prepare for the next day.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

You will have an early morning breakfast and embark on a 5 hour journey to Lake Mburo National Park, with a stopover at the Equator crossing for photography and a simple experiment that proves the existence of the Equator at that spot. You will then get back on the road and proceed to Lake Mburo National Park. You will do a wildlife game drive in the park with chances of spotting zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, impalas among others. You will then head to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will go on an afternoon boat cruise on the lake, where you will spot a number of bird species and more. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After your early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the home of mountain gorillas. As you exit Lake Mburo National Park, you will do a morning game drive so that you spot some more animals that you may have missed. The journey to Bwindi takes you through the green rolling hills of Uganda with banana and tea plantations and good scenic views. Lunch will be served en route and you will arrive at the lodge in Bwindi in the evening in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

You will have an early morning breakfast and be transferred to the park headquarters for pre-trek briefing by officials from the Uganda Wildlife Authority who will take through all the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. Then you will be taken to the starting point of your allocated gorilla family to start your trek into the thick Bwindi Forest. This trek may take from 30 minutes to three quarters of the day depending on where mountain gorillas will be. Thus gorilla trekking can be strenuous and as such a certain level of fitness is required. Once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed one hour of observation and photography. You will then return to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate in recognition of your effort of helping to conserve the endangered mountain gorillas. Return to the lodge for relaxation. In the afternoon, you will go on a village walk to learn more about the local people living around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park after which you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

This morning you will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Be prepared for some incredible scenery along the way. You will arrive in time for lunch at the lodge after which you will go on a game drive in the plains of Kasenyi in search for savannah wildlife that may include herds of buffaloes, antelopes, elephants and if lucky, some wild cats such as lions and leopard. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Morning Game drive and afternoon boat on Kazinga Channel.

After your early morning breakfast, you will enter the park on a wildlife game drive along Kasenyi and Queens Mile and you will encounter a number of animals including; lions, leopards, forest hogs, Cape buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, kobs, topi and many more. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George with abundant bird life will be sighted, elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores will be a delight to encounter. You will later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Return to Kampala – Entebbe Airport

After an early breakfast drive back to Kampala with a stopover at Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch and to learn about the Ankole culture of Western Uganda. You make a second stopover at the Equator crossing for more photography and to buy souvenirs to take back home if you so wish. Thereafter, proceed to Kampala or Entebbe Airport for your departure flight back home or to your next destination.
