This 5 Days Uganda Safari Tour takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park to track mountain gorillas and to explore Uganda wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Bwindi is home to more than half of all mountain gorillas alive on Earth as well as a number of bird species. Besides the Gorillas, you will also have an opportunity to see other primates such as the red-tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others. 5 Days Uganda Safari Tour

Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The safari begins from Kampala at 7:00am from where you will embark on a 9 hour journey towards western Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will make a brief stopover at the Equator for photographs. You will make another stopover at Igongo Cultural Centre to share and learn about the Ankole culture and how it has evolved. Drive to Mbarara for lunch break at Agip Motel Mbarara. After lunch, proceed to Bwindi. This is the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. Via the verdant countryside, you will pass through traditional homesteads and have panoramic views of the surroundings. You will arrive at the lodge in the evening in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Forest

Begin the day with breakfast ready to take part in gorilla trekking, which begins at 8:00 a.m with a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority staff on how best to enjoy tracking these endangered mountain gorillas. Remember to carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc. The guides will lead you inside the beautiful ecosystem to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the gorillas. Gorilla trekking may as well be one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on Earth. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort. Overnight stay and dinner at your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park

After your early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Ishasha, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park which is one of the most outstanding treasures of Uganda, and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve for Humanity under UNESCO auspices. It borders on Lake George and Lake Edward as well as Kazinga Channel in the western area of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. You will drive in Ishasha sector while searching tree climbing lions. You you will arrive at the lodge in time for lunch. After lunch take a 2 hour boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. This waterway joins Lakes Edward and George and it is filled with schools of hippos, buffaloes and elephants at the banks. You are likely to meet grazing hippos, elephants, lions, spotted hyenas, leopards, bushbucks among other animals. After the boat cruise, you will take a short evening game drive in the park after which you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Kyambura Gorge Chimpanzee Tracking – Evening Game Drive

After breakfast early in the morning, you will depart for Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge still in Queen Elizabeth National Park with your tracking gear. During the tracking, you will slope down a gorge with sights of the magical lush mature tropical forest, thriving below sea level supporting counts of chimpanzees. Hiking the gorge’s steep slopes in search of the chimps is challenging but eventually encountering them is gives a life time memory as you will find them rolling on tree branches, making pant hooting calls, also spot the black and white colobus monkeys and the olive baboons. You will thereafter return to the lodge for lunch and in the evening, you will go on a game drive in search of animals. Animals you might encounter include; buffaloes, waterbucks, leopards, elephants, giraffes, Jackson’s heart beasts, oribis, warthogs and other species of animals at the delta. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Return to Kampala – Entebbe Airport

After a morning breakfast briefly drive through the game trails as you drive out of the park to embark on your return journey to Kampala. Take a stopover in Mbarara for lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre (the historical ground for Ankole culture). Retreat from that and continue to Kampala arriving the evening. Proceed to the airport for your flight back home or to your next destination.
